i currently own a jbl polespear and have had good luck with togs and spades

action-smiley-033.gif Gteam,
I have a JBL 38 special (woody) with two slings and it is more than adequate for tunnel spearing. I have not seen any triggers at the tunnel or the Chesapeake light, so can't help you there.

I use a power pole with a Paralyzer tip.

I have a JBL 38 special Northwest with magnum (longer than normal) and stock shafts. It works great for around the islands and the pilings. I would try to find somewhere that will allow you to get the gun, and swap out the shorter shaft for the longer one (I can measure it and get back with the exact length if you want). The longer one has noticably more short range power.

You are going to be close enough to shoot anything you see (that is legal, we have shot some big lings back in Washington with them). If going with something the size of the 38 special I would definitely go with the northwest or XHD versions.

Seen triggers on the pilings, never on the islands themselves.
