  • MY BOAT:16ft Whaler

Posted 02 December 2007 - 06:08 PM

Fished the river from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Took a while to find a color and a pattern that worked but ended the day with 4 specs caught, some missed strikes and a couple pull offs at the boat. All fish were healthy and released to fight another day. All the other boats I saw were trolling which I don't and won't do for specs. That's just me, no disrespect to those that do. All my fish were stuck drifting a hundred yards or so south of the 64 bridge back towards the trussels in 8 to 14 feet of water. When I got to the trussles I'd turn around for another drift. No hits in other areas I did good a couple of weeks ago. Trollers probably ran them off lol j/k. Attached pic shows the rig used. Tried a couple casts for rocks at the Jordan bridge but no takers and no bait showing on the depthfinder. Always did good there last winter but it still may be a little early for them.

With having just a 16ft Whaler, I'm afraid those pretty mojo's and parachutes I bought are going to gather dust with the winds we're having. Been waiting all year to try my hand at trolling (that kind I will do) the bay/ocean for some cows but I doubt that'll happen. Oh well, there's always the hrbt and river for the schoolies.

Tight lines to all.
