well....Ktrain is officially the most Hard Core dude on the board !...he followed us out this morning at 0430 in 25Degree temps with NO CURTAINS. Nice ride out with following seas...Dave trax was about 30 minutes ahead of us before we caught and passed him. We dropped in at about the 440 line in 100 fathoms on the 48 - 65 degree temp break...water was gray..kinda wintery looking but had alot of life in it.....we got lines in about 0700 or so and at 0720 we had our first knock down....AWESOME fish on baby....Todd Beck is on the rod and brings in a BONITA .....get lines in and two lines go down....then three...then four..then five...then six..then seven.....holy crap two guys in the back and 7 rods down.....we get most of them in ....BONITA.....get on the troll again....bam...1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 lines down...get I think 7 of those in...BONITA.......get lines out again....Otter's letting line out and BAM fish on...the Get Reel spreader bar has a stinger hanging in the water...FISH on..the cedar plug is floating behind the boat...fish on....the Canyon Runner rainbow spreader is floating...fish on......we probably caught 30 Fat alberts today...it was pretty cool though...you would throw them back and in came the Hammerheads !...sharks everywhere....we finally gave up around Noon and were running in when we see this large floating object....looks like a coffin with signs on it....the signs say US navy Chief car wash...took some pictures because it was in the middle of nowhere !....

Trax was having the same gig but he did have a LARGE Mako hooked up very early which got off...as far as I know he's still fishing !......Here's a couple of shots of the day....bob

Wow, that might have been worth the run just to keep all those for bait. Everything (except us humans) love cut Fat Alberts. Hopefully you saved some for bait. Great bottom bouncing food when offshore and inshore.

The guys from the South usually win until they run out of money or send 15,000 men straight into cannon fire.

US Navy Chiefs, Coffin, Car wash sign floating at sea. They usually do their car washes in Sept and on land. Must be the new Navy?

Lets see Joint Navy Enterprise Synergy Six Sigma Airspeed car wash at the Canyon! One billion dollars spent, I mean saved.

Thanks for the replies everybody....It was GREAT fun with several multiple knockdowns.....Todd Beck and Otter did a great job running the pit.....I even got to crank a few in which I rarely do when I'm running the boat....Even though it was only Bonita it was a good drill to get used to multiple fish on with small crew !.......

As Mike said...you don't know unless you go and I just couldn't resist that water...I'm very surprised there were no longfins or Blue fin in that water......Lots and Lots of long line gear just south of the Canyon right along the 100Fathom line...I think if that water stays and the weather gives you a shot somebody should do a sword trip.....there was tons of bait holding about 50 - 100 feet down...I think it was mostly squid as that is what the Bonita were throwing up when they were in the boat....6" squid....

As usual Don's Get reel TIKI bars and Mike's G&H witches were the hot ticket....The Rainbow Canyon Runner bar got hammered a few times.......

We definately could have put a Bonita on the line and caught a Shark but we were working hard trying to find some Tuna....As most of you know I HATE SHARKS....They're bad critters and I just don't like em ....could be because I almost got ate by one when I was a teenage surfer in Florida !....yea...just don't like em never did....

...Bob
