Put in at the Ches. Yacht marina to get down to the HOT ditch and the cove.Lots of wind and hard to lanch.I only have a 20ft Mako c/c and played hell getting out with my friend trying to hold the boat from hitting the big water pump right by the ramp blink.gif . Is there another place to put out that may have a dock to retain the boat in these conditions? Not a problem to fish with the winds based on the location, just to lanch.
Thank you,
Eric

Great bridge is a good place to launch if coming from the Chesapeake/Beach area. It's pretty protected. But the question remains......Did you catch fish?

Caught a few no paper, had better luck at the sand bar right across from the ramp. But it took all day.Bloody Mary's and Bud Select keep all the ghosts away. smile.gif Mirror lures and White grums with red head did the trick.
Thanks again for the help!

That water there is polluted and boiling with acid. Really bad on Motors and reels. If you must fish there, wear a respirator and bring lots of antibacterial soap. All the fish have sores.

Im probably going to give it a shot sometime this week.

Endured the same scenario for many years.....you know....heading out to the Cell, get half way there, had to turn around and head back in cause it was too damned rough.....finally got tired of that and bought an Alura 35 Express.....bring on the 10' waves bow on....as soon as you can afford it, get yourself a bigger boat....Best of luck....Bud

You know i have heard so much about the water being just dirty as could be, but talked to a man that eats the fish out of there! In my past as a young man i have eaten some fish out of the Pagon and Catfish from Surry power plant. Is the Elizabeth river any diff? And for Bud,i did not have a problem with waves or it being to rough i go to the tower and the CBBT all the time in my 20Ft Mako.It was the fact that the wind was blowing my boat in to a big metal waterpump because they dont have a dock! But once i get my third rental prop. i will prob. see about another boat.
thanks
Eric
