We are wanting to make a trip down in the morning,
Pulled up the forcast, and it is calling for winds to shift out of the nw.
I read from a few post from last weekend that the wind was nw 10 -15 and it was rough.
So,what do ya think?
I was wanting to put in at bubbas and fish the cape, maybe out to the dump site and a few bouys.
Yhis will be our maiden voyage.
Should i do it or put it off.
Realllllly want to do it. need to get out on the water.
Thanks
MArk

Add 5 to everything NOAA puts out and then you will be in the ballpark. A north wind can make it pretty choppy in the bay so I would pick and choose yours days as to what you are comfortable with. I would do it but that's me but then again Sinclair will tell you I would do 4-6 also.

If it is too rough on the bay fish inside the inlet for flounder and what ever else might hit the line.

if you were worried on a NW wind you would put in at owls creek and stay on the SE side of the cape blocks the wind

Know the feeling Mark, filled my boat up with calf deep water on the Maiden voyage cuz I had to get on water despite the wind! Was out last weekend in a 24' Grady White and it beat the crap out of us.
Not sure what kind of boat you have but if its something compareable but you should be fine if you take your time and you could probably catch some spanish Macks trolling around the cape. Thats what we did and it wasn't bad at all.

Good Luck
