Tossed around a chartreuse clouser, gummy minnow, and baby bunker (all on a sinking line) at the back end of high tide this afternoon with nothing to show - didn't pull the smile off my face though. Bait fishermen were pulling a few croakers and small fluke, but action seemed slow.

Hope to sneak out tomorrow or Sunday still.

id try the small beach area over at croatan. u should be able to wade out along the wooden poles that run towards the jetty on that side. should be some blues and puppydrum/trout in there

That's where I was fishing. The currents get a little interesting in there, getting hit from waves on both sides now and then. Also had to contend with a fair number of persons that were curious of the fly fishing, had to do quite a bit of making sure the casting area behind me was clear of on-lookers.
