My family and I went fishing offshore with Capt Paul Lester on the Osprey out of OI on Friday morning. We left the dock at 5:30 am and was heading south to the point. We stop at a grass ball and tried for bailers. Had one ho cut off and one hit on a bailer rig. No more action so left and started to run again. 30 min. later Paul and I seen a large Tuna jump clean out of the water. Dropped rigs and tried there caught one gaffer 13LB and had 3 knock downs.Trolled for 1 more hour. Left and went to the Point.
This is my daugther Nancy's first offshore trip and first fish. Not to shabby. BigFish.gif Slow hard day but caught fish. The run down was this.
Nancy 13LB Dolphin, 15LB Blackfin Tuna
Glenna(Wife) 12LB False abert, Small Grass Jack
Ray(Brother) 14LB Blackfin Tuna, 6LB Bonita
ME(billy k) 31LB Whaoo
We also had a number of knock downs thought out the day. Capt Paul said that we had a sail and a white marlin that hit but did not come tight. This was also my wife's first trip and fish.We came to a place and tried for bailers on the way home with no luck. Back at dock at 4:45 pm. Capt Paul said that we had a sail and a white marlin that hit but did not come tight. Had a lot of fun on the Ospray with Capt Paul and his mate Mike. They made the trip for my family and I.
