Coast Guard Clarification On Ride Sharing


Message from the Coast Guard regarding trip sharing:
These links will provide clarification of the regulations related to charter operations, and ensure that all operators who carry even one hop-on "HO" for a fee holds in their possession a valid Coast Guard license. everyone keeps talking about the hotditch. i know the area that it in but if i was to put out a chesapeake yechts where do i go from there what do i look for and how do i fish it. next day off is fri and wanna go tear it up.. thanks

from the ramp look straight ahead under the bridge to the other side, thats it. if you go to the right, thats the e. river, make a right ,on the right side bank look for the drop off. another good spot. Rich

Make sure you don't go staright across at low tide because there is NO water there ! I learned that a couple of years ago and I have a light 16" cc. You can troll , use live bait and even cut mullet will work good too. Good luck.Flounderman is right about that good spot too.

Anybody using artificials? I plan on hitting the hot ditch this Sunday.

The place you want to go is the cove out of the ramp go left heading to deep creek it will be on your left

chart. gulp swimming minnows or jerk shads, 1/4 oz jig head works for me

Dont forget you can also dish all alonfg thechannel where the ramp is. Artitifials work well but dont forget about the live bai either on a carolinia rig or under a float.
