I plan on fishing the Mid Atlantic shootout and possibly the Frostbite challenge. I'm sure lots of boats will be in town for these tournaments. For some of you guys using Owls creek boat ramp frequently do you all see any problems with the ramp parking filling up? thanks.

It is something to consider. There is an overfow parking lot at Camp Pendleton, but that fills up too. For the Frostbite, we've opted for a second set of scales at Long Bay Pointe Bait and Tackle allowing boats to leave out of Lynnhaven, so you can use Bubbas or the city ramp there as well. If those are full there is also the ramp at 64th St as a thrid choice...longer run to the waters, but still a possibility. Hope to see you at the Frostbite!

It fills up early as mentioned and overflow parking is across the street. Get there before dawn to get your rig in the water if possible. Also you will need to exercise caution during low tides. The ramp on the General Booth Blvd side is extremely shallow at low tide. Bring your patience as it is generally busy and can be filled with some interesting people.

Welcome to the board Radiator. Interesting people? That's about as kind as I've ever heard it put. biggrin.gif Lets just say there are people of different experience levels when it comes to backing a trailer, launching a boat, common sense and common courtesy. Earlier is better at this ramp. You can always heave to and eat your breakfast. Or eat your breakfast, then heave to! LOL!

My son-in-law and some friends of his fished out of Owl Creek today (Tuesday) and one of them had to stand up on the bow of the boat to keep the stern drive from dragging bottom when they arrived at the ramp around 3:00 p.m. By-the-way, they only managed a nice flounder for the striper fishing efforts from 6:30 a.m. until around 2:30 p.m.

I had ideas of giving up my wet slip and do the trailer thing again
until I rode by Crab Creek Sat 12/27 at about 7:30 A.M., man that
place was a mad house !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did a complet re-fit on my
tandum trailer in preparation to trailer but have changed my mind.
The trailer needed to be done anyway, been sitting since 92` with
only scattered use, but it`s ready when I need it...
