We have been seeing the commercial boats come in with croaker. Don't know where they are getting them but it must not be too far. They come and go real regular. Will see if I can find out.

I have a friend who has a little girl around 9 years old. He wants me to take them fishing on friday for the first time. Anybody heard of where the croaker are yet? Or has the flounder bite really slowed down around the CBBT? Any intel will be extremely welcome.

Tog bite has been real good lately - every trip with a limit + (of course now I just jinxed my trip tomorrow). I'll be out there Friday and I can give you a report if you want. PM me and I'll give you my cell #.

Rumor has it that the croaker bite is on at the James River Bridge Pier. I've read a couple good reports for there, but I don't have any first hand knowledge. Also, Fish Tales wrote a report for a pier in Hampton on this site. He was saying they were catching croaker.. Sounds like their getting into them up that way.

I don't know if a 9 year old newbie girl should tackle tog for her first trip. I know a lot of experienced anglers that suck at toggin'. I need quick sure action for this little girl.

Don't put it past her - I had the same trepidation taking my 6 y.o. out, but she followed instructions to a tee. The young ones are like sponges...

I would wait and take her at the end of next week. They should be hitting at all of their usual places by then. That is if it ever warms up and stays there blink.gif ...

Last night my wife and I launched at Huntington Park to run the boat some and check it out. Boat did fine so we ran up the river a little just off of the Lions Bridge and fished for about 40 minutes. Croaker are there.
