Worked the 608 in DEEP water...500-800 fathoms on the advice of Kent. Had calm waters and nearly endless weedlines and sulfer lines. Caught a couple of decent mahi on the troll. Saw several come out from the weed lines and not take, so we set up to bail. Bailed will small menhaden and cut ballyhoo. Fish were very picky, turning their noses up at some of the offerings. Managed several more on the bail including the largest that went nearly 20 pounds caught on 16 pound mono on a spinning outfit. Saw great life out there...whales, two-tones, sharks feeding on a dead swordfish...great day!!
Came home last night because the down time at the marina is putting a hurtin' on me!! I did set a record this week at the Tiki Bar...23 beers...that one will be hard to beat!!! I hope they name a drink after me!!! Back to the Cove on Friday for one last weekend out of OI!! Let Dave or I know if you're up for some fishing! -------------------- VBSF COMERCIAL SUBCRIBER & Content Contributor

I'm you got some of them out of there anyway.
I think the OI charter boats had pounded those weedlines pretty hard the day before we hooked about 20 in there- so you did well bailing some more. I 'll put you in line early for the liver transplant. The Tiki bar has you on the road. Kent |

Don you have it made! Here I am, getting up every morning at 230 am, and working three jobs ........ and you have a stool at the PC Tiki Bar with your name on it. What am I doing wrong!
Sounds like the Virginia offshore season is off and running and the VB boats in Hatteras are heading home. When are you guys going to start charting out of Rudee? -------------------- |

Tony You left out one thing-you should see who is serving Don the 23 beers - as he sits on his Tiki bar stool. If you saw the bartenders there - you would wonder why he fishes at all.It is better just to the bar at PC and forget about fishing. Kent |

Kent, Tony was there a couple of weeks ago and is very familiar with the quality of the wait staff at the Tiki bar at Pirates Cove. I'd live there if I could. At the Tiki bar that is.

Like Kent said, the ladies at the Tiki Bar are...great!!! When I'm driving back home from the fishing grounds...I usually bump it up a couple of rpms so I can get back to the Tiki in time!! LOL.
Tony, We're fishing PC this weekend and heading back Sunday night at the latest...then its game on out of Rudee!!! All though, I'm sure there will be a day trip or two to visit the Tiki Bar!! -------------------- VBSF COMERCIAL SUBCRIBER & Content Contributor

Tony, we're fishing BillableOurs home to Rudee this Sunday. After we worked so hard to push the Tuna up North to Virginia we did not get even one Thank-you from our boys back home. We have had a great time for the past month running out of Pirate's Cove, met some great folks down there, and got to know some of our old friends better. We'll be back at Rudee setting up shop for a great season!
Tight lines and sharp hooks, Dave -------------------- |
