Start off looking for blues with no luck, spanish mackerel are still thick and we put a few in the box and head out to our spot. Get there and a dive boat is just east so we can still fish over the main wreck. Wind is calm and visability is great. Locate a school of the monster spades that haunt us for having lock jaw and try some squid. They seem to be looking at it but never take. Had a couple of the dead spanish on when a rod doubles over with a cut off right away. I thought I had on wire but brought in a cut peice of mono leader. Next drift raise several AJs with no takers and Noland is working on the spades when he spots a larger fish and feeds the 3'-4' shark 20# flor car and he makes quick work cutting off. Wind picks up and pushes us to fast so we head in to spend some time on the beach. Really wanted to get some more heavy pullage for the boys, a couple of live blue fish would have been the ticket.
