Well after a great month in Pirate's Cove, 'Billable Ours' is back home at Fisherman's Wharf. Dave and I heading back to PC on Friday and took two days of intense meetings at the Tiki Bar to decide on a plan of attack for returning to Rudee...either fish our way home, or run the beach. So we finally thought we had aweather window and decided to hit the fishing grounds on the way home, even with some strong NW winds in the forecast. We took to the inlet and had smooth sailing all the way to the Triple 0's. Set down on the 100 fathom curve. Now remember its Dave and I on the boat. I'm putting out the first line and its not even 30 feet...not even to teh knot where my main line attaches to the leader...and I'm hooked up to a 10 pound mahi. I set two lines out and start to climb the tower to set the outriggers and out and Dave yells...'Hooked up' I turn and see both rods doubled. Two BLT tuna in the box.

Finally get a full spread out and then its another double header followed by two singles. All fish caught by 10:00...2 man limit of tuna and a mahi. Troll further north to the back side of the Cigar and then decide to hit the barn as the winds started to pick up. About 25 miles from home its blowing 25-30 out of the NNW...right where headed. Made for some interesting times...added about an hour and half to our running time, but we made it back.

Fish were all caught on Blue and white...one on the Tiki Bar and the rest on single baits, either Get Reel Shooters or G&H seawitches.

Now its time to some VA action!!! But damn I'm gonna miss the Tiki Bar!!

This Tuna Wrangling is hard work...sort of. After a month of pushing Tuna up North for our Virginia Boys, we finally decided to get some more in the box. What a great way to finish the Lager Marathon we ran at the Tiki Bar, by numerous double-ups with some nice tuna and a Mahi as we headed home to Rudee. Thanks to Jim, Tammy and the Tiki Crew at PCYC for the great times, and to all our friends who came out to fish with us!
Tight lines and sharp hooks,
Dave

Glad to see you made it back in good shape--Saw the boat in the slip on Sat morning with the guns deployed but still along side.

Tell me what is a "BLT" -tuna? I here it on the radio down there all the time.
