Went down to get my buddies boat set up to store at Belle Isle Marina - got that straight and headed to the reef. Only about 10 other boats and lots of room to operate. Water was alittle stained and we only managed 1 keeper @ 20 1/2". Had 6 throwbacks from 17 to 18 3/4". Missed a few good bites and seemed the fish just didn't want to take it good. Fished 7" gulps in various colors. Fished from 1:30 to 6:00. One of these days it's gonna turn on !!

Dang would have thought you'd clean up in the middle of the week like that. Oh well at least you got something to take home. I'm going to fish there tomorrow I think, unless the action is slow then I might try the area around thimble shoal lighthouse. I don't have any live bait for sure right now, pot is soaking from last night some hopefully I'll have pin heads or spot to take after the big boys, going to fish gulps on differnt size jig head, some bottom rigs with cut croaker and mullet and hopefully some of that will get us a few keepers in the box. I'll try and post saturday afternoon/evening if my wife has her PC at home.

Hey DB, hit BRR last week for an hour after scouring the entire lower bay unsuccessfully looking for spades, managed one keeper, 19", the reef has been hit or miss so far this year......

I've almost given up on the lighthouse. Haven't been out there for about 4 weeks or so. Seems like I spend most of my time taking small skates off.

Maybe I need to try it again.
