Left just after the thunderstorm. A bit rought, but not enought to slow us down. Bite not as good as last Saturday but it didn't take long to start boating dolphin. Had trouble finding tuna, but we finally brought one in. The line starts singing and its my turn. Marlin. He ran off half the spool before slowing down. Took a bit to bring him to the boat. James held the belt to keep me in the boat. The fish and 3 foot seas tried hard to get me wet, but brought him along side for release. Beautiful fish. Probably 5-6 feet long. My first. A few more dolphin, a tuna lost before we got it to the boat and several knock downs kept us busy till noon. We tried for awhile after that and picked up one more dolphin before heading in.
We'd been hoping for a repeat of last Saturday's tuna madness, but no complaints. Shoot, the marlin made my day and everyone else caught fish for dinner.

We fished the canyon south to about the 400. The marlin was caught about the 425 in about 2800 feet of water. Temp was around 65 degrees. We tried the canyon, but couldn't find the right temperatures. Thought about going further south, but it appeared from the reports that 425 was the right place Saturday.
