Went Sat. along with a cast of 1,000's. Scattered YF bite 660 to 620 lines in 100 fthm
We went 1 for 5 with heartbreaking loss of a nice one at the back of the boat. Rest pulled off
Got good one though -48 lbs.

Good work, but sorry about losing a nice one at the boat Kent! I'm in Buffalo, meeting up up with our daughters and Grandkids, back Monday. The Lake Erie yellow perch are really biting, with a 14 incher recently reported in the Buffalo News. Had a hard time resisting the urge to fish for the "Yellow-finned Non-Tuna of the Great Lakes". Enjoy.
Tight lines,
Dave

Maybe.

The bite was scattered yesterday and the rig had to be perfect. I marked tons of bait pods - so the feed frency is closing out -there is plenty for them to eat -so longer leaders and baits way way back away from the boat - were needed.

One problem was that it was Saturday - so the minute bait popped-up or someone hooked up- 20 boats in on you .
We also had a fairly intense squall - not huge -but a lot of lightning- the bite stoped cold - with that. The OI guys said on the radio it happens everytime there is a thunderstorm - with lightning hitting the water- near the bite.. Never thought of it -but makes sense.
Wind shift in the late afternoon to 15 SE and clear blue sky they came back up - we got hit by a pod of three good ones -at first thought big eyes but be came apparent not that big -burnt off no. 1- pulled hook on no. 2 -having number 3 for dinner tonight.
