When the pound nets were emptied a week or so ago at the concrete ships (Kiptopeke) there were apparently at least a dozen Bull Sharks over 200 lbs. in the net shark.gif blink.gif
Keep your distance!!!

Be fun to get one of them critters on a line. Bummer if one gets ahold of you.

We've caught tigers on the eastern shore side over the years and there are some BIG BOYS near the shoals. Like said above there are also some mighty mean bull sharks to be had as well.

We caught a couple of bulls week before last off Lynnhaven while drifting for flounder... Definitely sharks with an attitude...

Nice pic... Would like to have seen a side view, but they don't always want to pose for the camera...

I bet it's a Sand Tiger. One of my buddies, Kelly Capps holds the record for the largest Sand Tiger, 339 lbs caught in a DEEP hole near Cape Charles back in 1983. I think VBSF sponsor Captain Craig Paige still holds the record for the biggest Bull Shark, 256 lbs!

The record "true" Tiger Shark is 1,099 caught offshore on the South East Lumps.

Take a look at the shape of the head. Google Image search both species before making judgement.

I can't tell from the picture ..... I did do a Google search on both. Although not visible in the picture, the stripes you saw sound like those on a "true" Tiger. IV never targeted sharks, so IM certainly no expert .... sport-smiley-027.gif

As a spearfisherman, I have swam with both and am positive that it is a Tiger. Nice Job on bringing him in. I bet he put up a hell of a fight.
