Real quick....tired...very very tired....Had Otter, Colt, AndrewK and Eric (peejc8) onboard for a fun day offshore before the 4th of July festivities....Nice day...had a Sailfish or WHite Marlin in the spread first thing...then caught a few Gaffers to get the blood flowing....went looking for Tuna and found some...went 1 for 7, I'll let somebody else tell that story ..lol...then picked up a few more gaffers...

1 for 7 on the Yellow Fin tuna
9 for 9 on the Gaffers to 20#'s
Nice Stiff Northwest wind on the ride in

Here's the days catch....Bob

Lets just say it was ugly...it was like a boat full of giddy school girls running around in the pit of Still Think'n. You know when the quarterback asks the ugly chick to the prom...7 quarterbacks ask 5 very ugly chicks on Still Think'n out and most of us didn't know how to answer...and there was a Tiki Bar tangled in the middle of everything too(BTW...Don we are going to need a rework on one Tiki Bar).

350 line 100 fathoms Joe...

Here's how it went down...

Left Flat and right flat both get hammered....Left Tiki Bar gets hammered...left and right short get hammered, left long gets hammered...Andrew picks up the right Tiki Bar to clear it and it gets hammered....Now the right and left flat go into the left TIki Bar, which then gets tied up with the left and right short and now the Right Tiki bar joins the party.....we get the left Long clear and get that fish in the boat....we work out the left Flat and get it to the boat...Colt take a shot with the gaff, but the butt of the Gaff hits the boat so it doesn't stick the fish all the way through, fish gets under the boat and breaks off, Otter then starts trying to handline one of the line in, making pretty good progress but it breaks off also, in the mean time the other 5 lines or have decided to become a permanent part of the Tiki Bars, had to surgically remove the Tiki Bar to free up the other lines....It was actually pretty exciting, I think the entire event took about 5 minutes max......What a blast, what pure Chaos !......The right long and shotgun both remained untouched, we changed those baits out shortly afterwards....Bob

Thanks for the ride Bob, those Tiki Bars are not worth the trouble. They attract way too many tuna.

first i must say thanks again bob for the call. i had a blast, it was good to fish with bob, otter, colt and eric once again. otter let me gaff my first three fish (mahi), even though two of them were gut shots, i still got them in the boat. catching the gaffers was fun, i had several hit as i was either clearing or putting the line out, its pretty wild to be putting a bait out and feel a thump, put the reel in free spool and then slam it in to gear, come tight and bam fish on! all this while holding the rod.

as bob said when the tuna hit it was exciting, i dont care what anyone says i dont think there was anything we could do. in less then 5 seconds we had 7 tuna on and the damage was already done.

it was a great day, except for the first 40 miles back, all in all great day.

thanks again guys.
Andrew K

Pretty work guys! Andrew, 3 for 3 on your first gaff shots is great. I don't care where you stick 'em, just get 'em in the box! Any video on the tuna cluster#@$%? LOL! 7 YFT on at the same time can cause a lot of problems for anyone. Where the hell was Don when you needed him? laugh.gif
