My wife finally had a chance to go out on the boat and do some fishing (been a Year). So instead of Cobia fishing I figured we'd try our luck at some Flounder. We arrived at 1st island around 0845, Lines in the water. My wife keeps catching rock's, not the fish! after changing a few rigs I finally got my rod in the water.

After reading all the reports on how you need to let the fish eat for a few sec's before setting the hook, I felt the nibbles. I gave it tug, FISH ON! I yell for wifr to grab the net. Brought it on board...25". Not bad for my first flounder ever.

My wife wanted to catch one but was a little inpatient to let em chew. So I hooked into another and passed the rod. She did good hauling it in.... 19" barely!
Then she got the hang of it, Bam another nice fish. She wanted to pass the Rod to me because she was afraid to lose it. I wouldn't let her. Netted the fish....23". Not to bad. After that we gave it about another 30-45 min and decided we were done frying in the heat.

Good thing we left when we did a thunderstorm (actually it seemed more like a hurricane if anything!) came rolling through while I was cleaning them!

Bait was finger mullet and Squid strips together.

Here's the pics!

Not too shabby for your first flattie! You now have a high bar for your next trip.
Good things come to those who bait.
