I am looking to head offshore this weekend for King Mackerel, but don't want to go out quite as far as the Hot Dog. Any decent areas to begin in?
The Hanks is holding some school kings.

Down in Galveston Texas I have used a lure called a Snapper Slappers. These are ment to be used for snapper fishing but work great for kings when you troll them.
We were just adding a ribbon fish or a sardine to the back side of the lure. No special tricks just hook them through the head and make sure they swim straight.
I picked up a few but have not tried them over here, maybe this weekend!

I "googled" the "snapper slapper" That is a nice looking bait.
I definitly want to try them out. Any local shops have them?
I keep wanting to browse oceans east 2, but Im always in a hurry getting specific bait and tackle on the way to the boat. I never have time, or at least Im in a hurry to start fishing.

I usually pick them up when I am in Texas.
I am not sure if anyone has them local.
Bass Pro online maybe?
We also caught Jack Crevells on them. The pink worked best for us, it could be different over here you never know until you try them.
I think I might try them Sunday.
