Took two charters out of Cabo last Saturday and Monday. Striped Marlin were all over the place except on my lines. Twice we had boats on either side of us hooked up to striped marlin but we could not buy a bite. Most running 75 to 125 lbs. One boat was flying 4 marlin flags. Everyone switched from trolling to live bait drifting. Could catch all the bait you wanted on Sabiki rigs. Tuna were around in Sea of Cortez, saw a bunch in the 50-60 range with one at 199 YFT. The marlin were on the Pacific side and that's what we were going for. Blues and Blacks were scarce but striped were plentiful. Beautiful on Monday, a little windy on Saturday. Nice time with the family but "SHOOT", nothin but a boat ride for me. Next time.

Sorry to hear the trip wasn't as productive as you would have liked. How was is there in general; accomodations, people other stuff to do, etc?? I'd like to get out there one day.

It's my second time. The first time was 4 years ago and we released a 140 lb striped. This time I just couldn't buy a bite. We stayed at the Finesterra and it was really a class act. The place was beautiful and clean and the help was great. It was a 5 minute walk to the marina area and a strole down there after 3pm meets the charters coming in. The place is a desert so no rain and the days are sunny and the nights are clear. The Sea of Cortez is on one side and the Pacific on the other. The "arch" is part of a beautiful landscape where the mountains extend out into the water and form an arch at one point that has a beach around it. If you like to see lots of loud drunken Americans spend one night at "the Office" for diner. There is a big push to get Americans to buy time share and I cant take that stuff but while my daughter and I were out on a charter, my wife went to a "free" breakfast with timeshare presentation. They give away a lot of stuff if you can put up with the sales pitch. We got $150 American for diner for 3, a few free margaritas and free taxi which is about 65American each way for just my wife showing up. Bless her heart. In all, its a beautiful place that I hope to go to again.
