Got a call Thur night from a friend who lives in Nags Head and wanted to fish. We left Pirates Cove at 0800 in thick fog and an hour and half later made it to the inlet. Ran up to the Duck Research Pier (hour Norht of the inlet) and found a fleet fishing hard. Looked like a flounder bite going on at CBBT on a Saturday. Most of the charters from O.I. were there so we set out our gear and started fishing. Caught our limit trolling, bait of choice was a 48 oz MoJo (chartreuse) trailed with a 9" storm Bunker shad. We had to replace the shad twice. Had good success on a 24 oz mojo (white) trailled by a red/white tomic. 4 of us on the boat and caught a total of 16 fish (8 released of course). Fish ranged from 18 to 35 lbs.
