Oceanfront Beehive Lunchus Interruptus

I went to brunch about 1PM with my wife and two boys at Catch 31 at the 31st street Hilton. As soon as we walked in, my boys and I froze at the sight out the windows. At least 3 beehives up and down the beach, all within 1/2 mile of the beach. With the west wind it was calm for at least 3/4 mile out. One of my friends was eating with his family and he said he was just about to call me.
In any event, I had said early in the AM we weren't going fishing, but I just couldn't stand it. I had to sit with my back to the windows. My two sons were freaking out. One said he was so excited he was seeing spots. The other said his knees were sweating. As you can imagine, we broke down, called for the check and ran for the dock. Making the cape was a bit choppy but not bad. Ran to the first beehive we saw and started catching -- 34 - 39 inch fish and fat. Back for the Super Bowl

Marinas at Rudee are reporting schools inside the inlet ......
"" These fish are running so close right now, we are seeing birds IN THE INLET!! The Captains are fishing right outside of the inlet and are just catching, and catching!! Boats that went out this morning are already coming back with their limits, and boats are either leaving for the second trip, or are getting ready to go out since the fishing is this amazing!!""

Don't know if it is that amazing. They are catching them but not like a week ago. We were out there yesterday with them and you are right they are up on the beach but they definitely aren't like a week ago. You have to work to get them but they are there... Thanks for the report, keep them up here another month or so....
