5/23 - Mixed bag. Wish I had trailed the boat from Teach's to OI from what I am reading today. Headed NE out of HI at 7:00 and was hoping to make it to the 1250. We didn't get that far. Saw a bit of life and dropped the lines at the 280. A few small YF tuna, snd pushed into deeper water approx 200 ftm. Seas started picking up. Turned tail by 1:00 and had a long, white knuckle ride home at 15 knots. Ended the day with two or three small YF and a couple throw backs.

5/24 - Nice day. Weather was even better coming in that going out. You could have wake boarded all the way home from the Rock Pile. Managed to pull in a small YF, several bailer dolphin and one nice gaffer. Started SE of the Rock Pile in 35 fthms, headed NE to 70 fthms. Mixed water that got hot quick. Finally found a small weed line ... actually more of a floating trash pile with some salad mixed in and picked up the gaffer. Headed home at 12:30 and was back in Richmond eating seared ahi with my new bride!

Nice job Jon! Glad you were able to get out and from the sounds of it, back in. We fished along a weed/trash line last weekend off of the Rock Pile, too. Lots of debris, floating buckets and trash in with the weeds.

Thanks for the report!!
