After having to turn around only 17 miles from Fingers on Thur due to fuel flow problems, The Volunteer made it back out Fri and Sat. Awsome water conditions both days!

Fri produced 2 YFT, about 35 & 50 lbs each, along with 4 chopper blues. Both tuna hit meat with a blue or pink Sea Witch. Sat was better, with a 35 lb cobia hitting Don's blue/white mini-bar no more than 10 minutes after the lines got wet. Had a second cobia fiddlin' with the blue/pink mini-bar, but couldn't get hooked up. Shortly after that we picked up a 50 lb YFT on a blue/white Tuna Witch with a ballyhoo. And then, all Hell broke loose with the Blues. Had 8 lines dragging, and had 6 fish hooked up. Even had a hit on one of the teasers, which was promptly bitten off. Talk about busy -- good thing we had a lot of people on board. Picked up another YFT, several more blues, and lost a gaffer bull dolphin at the boat. All in all a great day.

Started at the 21 Fathom Finger, trolled NE, then E, and then SW down to 22 Fathom Finger. Ran this same route both days. No particular color was prevalent, but the cobia seemed to prefer the mini-bars. We picked up the second YFT on Sat on a pink Sea Witch with a ballyhoo.

we tried to bail a cobia after bailing the lone Mahi on a floating cane log.

Kind of Wierd to see a cobia out that far, Right? I thought it was a shark at first.

Yeah, I just learned that cobia can be caught trolling. Never caught one like that before. Now, I figger that if they'll hit a mini-bar offshore, it's just possible they'll hit a mini-bar in the Bay. I'm going to try it, anyway.

Also, forgot to mention that we also picked up a King Mackeral on Friday as well.
