We are aborting trip too. Very marginal conditions and I hate to waste fuel getting banged up for 12 hours. Aviation forecast (which I have a lot more faith in) is indicating even higher gusts than the marine forecast. The av boys do hold some promise for Sunday however. They have us dropping to souhwest at 10 knots by 10:00 pm tonight. Perhaps that will allow the seas to moderate somewhat.

Fingers crossed. Honey dos today for She Who Must Be Obeyed, prep for tomorrow, just in case. Mid-afternoon may give us a better hint for Go/No-Go.

Weather up date for 7/23: I checked all of the terminal area forecasts for airports up and down the coast. The wind appears to begin to really stabilize to around 12 knots begining at 1000 tonight and droping further to 6 to 8 knots around daybreak. This is all south south west on the direction. This forecast is consistent from Wilmington NC along the coast to Richmond VA so I believe this trend to be highly credible.
The wave forecast, of course, is a differnt thing. No doubt with this blow it is going to be stirred up in the am and moderating through out the day. Unless I see something to the contrary I thing we may try to go tommorrow
