Fished on the "Wired Up". Went to the east side of the Cigar and started trolling with the rest of the fleet. Had major rips and marked and saw tons of bait being balled up. Lots of lumber around. Caught 3 bailers no bills. Did have one billfish free jump outside our spread be they were soo full from eating all that bait. There were bills there though. "Pursuer" scored 7 whites yesterday out of 10 strikes!!! They are leading the VBBT...good luck guys!!

There are tuna at Wayne's World!!!! Bob talked to guys at the docks yesterday that fished the area and scored with some good size yellowfin!! Go get 'em!!

Looked at the wave data and bouy info and I just knew you boys were into the bills up to the whites of your eyeballs (pun intended). It can be tough to get one to bite when there's that much bait in the area. I'm sure you guys will catch 'em up next time. Eric and I are kicking around a trip next week. Maybe we can get into a few.

George,

I was thinking we were going to get them too after Neal had 4 whites in the spread the day before along with a blue that hit one of my lures and busted the line(Big Poppa works!!! biggrin.gif ). We were right next to Pursuer most of the day...he must have been in the right place at the right time.

Billable is thinking about running out next weekend sometime, too so we'll figure things up closer to the weekend. I've gotta get my blue!!!! animal-smiley-043.gif

Im stuck in NJ this weekend. We had a surprise party for Sandy's sister at a bar right on the manasquan inlet here. Boats in and out all day. Talked to a guy who was going out, they were going for a 12 hour ride to the offshore spot.

Todays plan was to swim and lay by the pool, first rainy day in a month, go figure.

George, You better????

Reports of my demise have been somewhat exaggerated. I'm not letting a little pneumonia stand between me and a billfish. I'm a lot better than I was last week. Give me a call and we'll see what we can do this week.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Dave. And yes Eric, I finally figured out how to lose the rap music from my phone. It's called a ringback tone and it costs a buck a month. Called Verizon and they got rid of it for me. Looks like this week might be a wash with Ernesto waiting in the wings. It's a shame because billfish can go nuts on the front side of a tropical system. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Someone needs to call in sick mid-week and get out before the blow...but it doesn't look great any day this week...unless you've got a 60 footer or a Southport!!!

yep the whole week looks like garbage, maybe the report is based on the storm coming close by. It might go more west, and with that it will be slick calm Saturday, maybe.

I've been skirting some stuff in between beers. I'm pouring Big Poppa heads tomorrow...I have a feeling I'll get my blue on one of them!! I know that one that you saw while fishing with Neal broke off, but it's still a feather in my cap to know that a big blue marlin hit one of my lures...Big Poppa biggrin.gif !!!

Sorry, 'Big Poppa', from the lure formerly known as Big Daddy, that one was customized with Neal's boat name and did not have the proper nom de guerre. When Bob screamed as the fish hit it, I looked back to see what remained of the huge splash. Some Longliner will be the proud owner someday most likely...or it's on Mr. Blues Trophy Wall at 200 Fathoms. Go 'Big Poppa'! bow.gif
