My buddy (Globko) and I have been throwing around the idea of hitting spadefish on the fly. They would be killer on a 9 weight. But I'm wondering if anyone else has tried it?

We were thinking of using green crabs flies, which are easy enough to tie. Just modify my old velcrow rubber leg striper special. Or some tan wool drifted into the chum slick.

I assume they'd fight a lot like a permit. They sure do fight like sumsabitches on light tackle.

Any thoughts are welcomed.

took a guy to the tower who crushed em on the fly. he used tan wool stuff and made em look like clam. it was quite a show
