Coast Guard Clarification On Ride Sharing


Message from the Coast Guard regarding trip sharing: These links will provide clarification of the regulations related to charter operations, and ensure that all operators who carry even one hop-on "HO" for a fee holds in their possession a valid Coast Guard license. No!!!

Had one at the boat and was trying the one handed netting and it made a run and cut off on the motor.

Solo drum fishing is hard. Also hard to remove large sharks from hook with only one person.

Sure wish I could have found someone to go on a short notice.



But I did catch a rare black tailed red at the dock before I left. Was kind of a dink, but kept him anyway.

O I would have thrown the rod down if I had him in the net. I had the net in one hand and the rod in another trying to net him, he then made a run and I had no leverage to horse him. If he was a meat fish I could have had the option of tiring him out more.
