Can anyone give me directions to a ramp where I can get to the cabbage patch? Went there a LONG time ago with my uncle, and we did good fishn there, and would like to fish it again now I have my own boat. I just can't remebmer the public boat ramp we went to and the exit.
Thanks for any info anyone can provide me.

Kiptopeke State Park. North on Rt. 13,across c.b.b.t. Probably 3-5 miles, turn left. You'll see the sign. After you launch I believe cabbage patch is to the south, back towards the bridge. I bought 2 charts at West Marine for southern Ches. Bay, one shows the cabbage patch & many other " hotspots".

Looked at my chart last night. Cabbage Patch is almost due west of the ramp, very slightly north.
Thanks for the info......

Danny - you need to get yourself a chart. The cabbage patch is just an area that has some mussle and grass beds on it. It is pretty close to the ramp (within 5 miles) from kiptopeke. That whole area is known for good fishing, so do not be afraid to mix it up a bit.
Some stuff to look for ... the main river channel hugs the beach from just outside the concrete ships up toward cape charles. It drops from 15 foot to 70 on the channel edge ... and there are a couple 100+ foot holes. Those channel edges are the key to allot of good fishing.
You can also work the flats just to the south of kiptopeke toward the high rise bridge. This is a great place for drum and cobia (although the cobia are not there yet), especially around the 16 bouy.
have fun!
