When you jig for trout around the cbbt islands, do you usually find trout suspend in the middle or usually are they near the bottom. Didn't know if I should be watching the screen for middle or bottom. thanks

generally this time a year i have found them around the ends of the islands slow bouncing small plastics off the bottom and have actually caught big black drum also on the bay side of 3. good luck

early in the seaon which was about a month ago the islands are best for casting cross current and reeling just enough to keep the slack out of the line bouncing over the rocks. The trout are rubbing their roe out on the rocks in the early season before they head up the bay. Some do hang out down near the 12 mile marker.
