Is live bait really worth it? If you are looking for flouder, drop some flouder belly on a rig and drift for them. Just make sure you save your receipt, because the regs on market flouder is lower than we get to keep as recreational fishermen. Good luck and let me know what you discover. I am still learning.

If you're in to making your own rigs, I've always done best (caught my biggest fish) with a 4/0 to 6/0 wide gap Kahle style hook on a 3 foot, 30 lb test flurocarbon leader, with either two beads and a gold spinner or just a bare hook. Then I use either a live spot, croaker or hogfish hooked through the jaws. You can substitute a fresh croaker or bluefish fillet, which works but not quite as well. As far as volume (catching the most fish) a store bought rig like Getaway mentioned is a great way to go. Add a strip of squid and a minnow and you're in business. And you can catch a lot of fish that way. I usually fish two rods when drifting for flounder, one with the big fish rig and one with the most fish rig. Hope this helps.
