Hey everybody,
I'm Thinking about running up to fish with my brother and Dad out of Indian River inlet near Rehoboth Beach DE. A shot in the Dark but I was wondering if anyone has done any offshore fishing out of Indian River or Ocean City MD. If you have maybe you can help me:
Does anyone know how far offshore from Indian River do you have to go to get into the Tuna, Mahi and Wahoo. I know that the canyons are a good bit out but I was hoping that maybe the Tuna and dolfin would come in to the 30 or 40 mile range with the warm water we have this time of year? Thanks for help

The Hambone and Massey's have been prety reliable for tuna, but also pretty crowded. Last sunday we were gonna go flounder fishing (off OC), instead we took a quick trip to the 20 fathom line, boxed a 45lb yellowfin and were headed in at 10am. The bite is scattered, so you're probably better off staying away from the crowds.

Good luck,
Bill

Bill,
Thanks thats what I was hoping. Twenty Fathom is pretty shallow, how far off shore give or take do you think you were? Also did you hear of anybody catching dolfin or is it just tuna that far north. Thanks again.

We were a little over 20 miles out. The water was 80 degrees and as blue any I've seen this year. There are some dolphin in that close too. The sunday before, we saw tuna chasing bait out of the water in 38', and one of the charters on our dock got his limit of bluefin within 11 miles of the beach. This is an exception, rather than the rule, but the water has been very warm this year.
