Well I knew it was going to be too rough to fish for flounder on Saturday so I opted to try for some small red drum. After about 4 tosses of the cast net I had 60 menhaden and a couple mullet. Off to find some drum. First stop I immediately get hooked up, but it's no drum. After a 20 minute battle I land a cownose ray that would have weighed 25-30 lbs. I set another 45 minutes and nothing. Next spot, as soon as the bait hits the water I get a bite and hit paydirt. A 23 inch drum and the first of many. After about 2 hours of a fish on every 5 minutes I call it a day and head back in. My first time targeting drum and it is successful. BTW this was from 6am - 10 am. The fish came from about 8-10 as the tide was comming in.

At the crab creek ramp. It is fairly easy if you are among the first to launch in the mornings.

It ain't worth the effort to keep them alive... they'll catch just fine cut into chunks.
