I am thinking about going out to the Chesapeake Light Tower to fish for some spade fish. I haven't fished for these since last year. I wanted to know if it is worth the trip and are they very active there now. Any help would be appreciated. While we are out there, are there any other hot spots for anything else. Does anyone know of any good spots for large bluefish. We are coming from the Salt Ponds (Southall Landing Marina) and want to have as many options as possible.

Someone may have been there recently to confirm or deny this but usually this time of year the spades have shut off. They are probably still there but won’t bite. You may have a shot at an AJ or Jack but probably not worth the trip, especially if you are hoping for spades.

was there about 2 weeks ago, no spades at all. In fact, there was nothing there. I've heard about some baracuda, cobia, etc, but nothing on the AJ

I went Tuesday to check it out for AJs, Kings , cobia, etc. Got one bite off at the boat from what looked like a small king. Didn't see any spades or anything else.
