ya all the sharks were about 4 foot and the cobia was about 30lb

Yeah we had a fun day had couple first thing then a little lul but was a good day beat storms back in. The only thing that wont that cool was nice big yellow boat ( TOP NOTCH) happen to pull right up on us as I was pitching to 2 cobia on a can and started to throw a that the same fish. If were to have done that to him he been sure to try sink me or put one hell of a cursing on me. I did the work chum the bouy early found multable fish on it so in my eyes he should have never even pulled up on me. I do understand that he was on charter but there are lots bouys out there and he has a million dollor boat he can cruse a few and find his own fish. I thought I was spade fishing at the tower

Hey JimBob, You are a Gentleman on the water, that sounds funny. (JimBob - gentleman)
But I think the Captain of top notch was way out of the way with throwing at the same fish, you had found, set up on, chumed.
I know my actions and words used wouldnot be inline with a gentleman.

Yeah that pissed me off and the captain seemed to know when I gave him a one finger salute he just throwed his arms up shrugged his shoulders and cracked a smile. I guess when you have a group paying 600/1200 for a charter you dont realy care about 2 guys in a boat. I have had the paigeII come close to hitting me twice both times spooking the school of spades I had behind the boat but that was spade fishing you kind of expect that but not cobia fishing.

you really are a gentleman...a less civilized person might have fired a test flare over his bow or something...or at least tossed a nice piece of bait on his hardtop for the seagulls to enjoy...not that i believe in that sort of thing but i heard about this old "gentleman" that does some striper fishing on the delaware river and he keeps a paintball gun on board to chase off the jet skiers that disturb his peace and quiet...what that captain did was up...plain and simple

I also dont want to mess up that mans boat he makes a living on and he had passengers on that only knew that there were fish there and the captain said pitch a bait. By posting this message on this board it will do more damage then a sinker or bird crap can do.

Hey Cartoonproffitt what buoys did you hit exactly? It wasn't at the 3 sisters was it? I'm hoping to head out there next week...any advice?

we were on the cb line ese of the inlet they seem to hanging out on the bouys I saw other boats do the same as us found fish and hung out on him I forgot my gps at the house but it aint one particular there are fish hanging on lots of them is my guess just start at the bay start checking and pitching. Try castneting some live menhadden usualy you can find them in the surf right outside the inlet freeline tail hooked good luck

do you guys like to throw some chum in the water if no cobes or just lookin??

never fished in va. can anybody recommend shore fishing in va saltwater
