Drift fished the bridge from late morning until late afternoon. Caught 5 dink flounder, one 19in keeper and a 21 inch Striper. Striper was deep hooked so instead of trying to force the jig out I cut the line quick and let him. Saw him floating a couple minutes later which bummed me out but the law is the law.
Used 4 inch pogey grubs on a 1/2 oz jig all day.

I really don't get it. I know I'm slow. But I try hard to understand, and I just can't.
I do understand we need seasons for game we hunt on land. why hunt deer after there antlers have droped. I can understand the other reasons too.
But with fishing, SEASONS, Why. Do the experts know when the female stripers go into heat.
They will have to limit those guys with the nets, that catch 90% of all fish taken from the waters, before I can feel all these limits us rec. fisherman have.
I have been hunting all my life, just getting back into fishing.
If there was a commercial group out there, that could kill deer, with out limitations all year round, then they want to put limits on the rec. hunter, OHH, I can see PROBLEMS.
If I am writing words stupidly, PLEASE someone tell me.

I don't think people would waste their time targeting rockfish this time of year or any time during the summer if there was a year round season. And if they did our fall and winter regs would be even tighter.
