Headed out earlier yesterday for my last day on the water for a year since the Navy decided to semd me to work with the army in Iraq( IA for all you Navy boys) but my and my 7 y/o fishing buddy headed out around 5 am from lynnhaven headed to the first Inland and got right in to Sea bass and Oyster Toad the a school or shad rolled through and was able to land some on a sabaki rig after a while switched under the bridge and got in to some non stop croaker action on strip squid and he caught his first sand shark there. As the bay started to pick up with the north east wind we decided to head back in to the inlet and fish the grass lines the first spot yielded him two dink flounder and then with a tip from a passing kayaker we switched spot and I was able to put him on some puppy drum all we caught on white gulp with a 1/4 red head. So by noon tire and worn out and fish in the box we head in.
So we had a great day the catch list was Black Sea Bass, Oyster Toads, Hickery Shad, Croaker, Shark, Flounder, Red Drum
I also want to thank everyone on this site the lesson about the bay and tecniques that I picked up here were the key to succeful day on the water.
See you in a year
