First of all...2-4 foot my A$$!!! May be 2-4 at one time and 5 secs apart!! NOAA wrong again!

Any way. Left Rudee on Wired Up with Neal and crew headed for the deep insearch of Bills. Set lines on the 400/730 in some blue blue water. Could only troll south as the waves were stacked. Worked the area south with the help of High Hopes and Git-R-Done. Had a white come up on the left flat, moved back to the left short, back to the left flat..back to the short and finally hooks up on the left long...then gone. Reel in the line to change bait and see that the snap swivel broke. Continue to troll south and catch and release a large bailer mahi. End up on the 200 near the weather buoy with no other hits.

Heard of a couple of wahoo caught around the Cigar and a white to boot. High Hopes and Git-r-dun got whites and saw a couple other bills. Blue water was pushing in, but lacked a lot of life.

Another trip like this and I'm getting a membership at Bay Creek Golf Club!!!! sad.gif

That was tough conditions to fish in. Never saw a 2 footer. I think I saw a single 3 footer for about 2 seconds. I would have been happy with a steady state of 4 footers but they were 4 footers with 5 or 6 thrown in with steep waves and no backs. I was stuffing my bow just trolling when the 5-6 footers hit me. I may call the wakefield office just to say....WTF over.....

If we go often enough offshore, getting sucked into these nice forecasts will catch us every once in a while.

Take up golf instead of fishing....never.
skinnys-kid
If you call the Wakefield office let me know...we can do a converence call!!

As for Golf...I'was just kidding. Days like that only make me want to get out there again . I heard Capt Steve Richardson say one time to a guy that got skunked..."Well you can't do any worse tomorrow!!" How true that is!!

Stick with it guys!!! I've been laying low the past couple of weeks (fishing inshore and tending to some out of town visitors) but our Fall fishing will be here soon and we'll be back to slaughtering some tunas. The one thing I love about Tunas, when they come into the spread they don't dick around...they bomb away! Whites are cool but can make you pull your hair out!

JDOGHUNTS
We was considering going offshore, Friday. Glad we decided to stay in.
We did run to the 4th Island, Knew we made the right choose then.
though it was going to be nice, and left the front plastic home. (got my second and third shower before we could get there).

We have nothing to share about the catch. ( 12 taylor blues, about 6 throwback flounder, and 3 Citation Oyster Toads)

We'll be out there chasing Tuna when they come in.

Thanks for your post, don't ever not post, please. I know I get alot out of them, even when its not all about the Fish.

short comings
Hey Don,

Sorry you guys didn't have some better luck. Sure you all will make up for it next trip.

Glenn,

I can't wait for the Fall tuna. We had some big boys this Spring...now they'll only be bigger!! action-smiley-033.gif action-smiley-033.gif

Now's a good time to re-rig those spreader bars/rigs that took a beating. Tackle failure is not an option!!!
JROCK
Don,

It was great fishing with you. I am with you, days like that just make me want to go out more. Redemption is a sweet thing! Don't start playing golf, yet.

We are looking at our gear and tactics to ensure we do not lose any big tuna this fall.

Hey Don, I'm certain that failed snap swivel was NOT a Get-Reel product!

Don, I hear ya on the 2 to 4's. We went to O.I. on sat. all the way to the deep as well. 4 to 6 and some 7's, very close together. Stuffed the bow a number of times, kept our feet cool. Like your trip on saturday we've been struggling for a few weeks, since the tuna and mahi bite slowed. We did get a white release on saturday though so that was alright. He hit a homemade bird style daisy chain/sea witch being towed right next to a B/W Tiki. You know better days are nearby....Richard

Richard..nice job on the White...Congrats. Those Tiki's can raise some fish. They may not always hook the fish, but they will make a fish near by say, "Hey...let me go check that out!" animal-smiley-043.gif

Tom...nope..not a Get Reel snap swivel...not making those...YET!! biggrin.gif
