Looks like Troy is too busy to post a report this morning, so I thought I'd go ahead and help him out, lol. Got a late start from VBFC 5am or so, headed towards the weather bouy....seas werent too bad, but a little choppy. Trolled the bouy hoping for something, but nada....Made our way on east, and after a few hours of a lull had our 1st knockdown which turned out to be some bailers...Moved a little deeper, nice knockdown on the short rigger, this one stays tight! TLD 25 is almost spooled as Jeff and I are just watchng the line peel off at a steady pace.....fish jumps and Troy yells BLUE MARLIN! All the lines are cleard at this point and we proceed to fill the cockpit with water as our faithfull captain slams her in reverse.....Jeff does a great job at keeping the line tight as Troy is steadily backing down. Roughly 30 min later a nice little blue 125-150lbs is boatside and I have the leader in my hand. Grab the bill, get the hook out and a short revival, fish is healthily released. High fives all around, spread back out, looking for more. We end up playing with 2 or 3 more whites which couldnt get a good hookset, and by 3pm we pick up to leave. Had a great time, and congrats to Jeff for his 1st marlin. By the way, he was properly "creeked" back at the dock. This was also "Seaduction's" 1st blue, so congrats to Troy. We had a great crew, most from this board of Greg, Jeff, and "Gumby". Look forward to fishing with you guys again. Greg has some pics, hopefully he can get them uploaded on here. Tight lines,
JOE

Congrats to Seaduction and her crew in catching their 1st blue marlin. We were fortunate enough to get our 1st this year and trust me it'll take a long while for the elation to finally settle. Now, with that blue marlin catch under your belt, you can go to work on loading up the freezer.

Joe and troy
Thanks for a great day an the water. I am still pumped up about the Blue Marlin. The pics are great i cant wait to get some of them blown up. Joe did a great job keeping things in the cockpit under control and getting the right spread out. Troy put us on the fish and when we got hooked up did a great job backing down. i am sure glad he did I was starting to wonder who would tire first me are the fish. I was still feeling the jelly arms the next day. But ill take that any time. That Viking sure is a great fishing rig with all the comforts of home. Thanks again for a great day guys hope to do it again soon.
Also had fresh mahi last night.

nice job on the blue, those tld 25's have alot of muscle for such a small reel. we had a tld 30II out fishing for whites in the baltimore canyon last week of august and ended up catching and releaseing a 450lb blue after an 1hr and 30 minutes on 600 yards of 30lb.. haha we had to turn the boat on her though... congrats!!
