Full Version: Fall rigging get together!
Virginia Beach Sport Fishing > VBSF.net Sport Fishing Forums > Offshore, Gulf Stream & Canyons (Ocean City MD to Hatteras NC)
Chumlord
Last year we did one of these things, primarily we focused on rigging Ballyhoo and it was a great success. This December I am trying to put one together focusing on rigging artificials and lures. I have set the date for December 1st, it is completely free it is mostly directed toward learning the basics of offshore rigging.

Kevin Bremmer will discuss rigging a spreader bar and some other topics he is working on.

Bill Vandeusen will demonstrate his methods of tying sea witches and stiff rigging hooks for use with artificials.

I will go over the bridle rig for planer rod fishing and the basics of leader construction.

If you are interested in attending let me know!!!

I'LL BE THERE ( 2 PEOPLE) LET ME KNOW WHERE AND WHEN
Chumlord
Right now it is scheduled for December 1st and it will be at my house. I am thinking of having a back-up date if the weather is very nice for instance if it is blowing SW @ 5-10 I might be out chasing Rockfish. Additionally, the focus of this get together is to share rigging information primarily aimed at the person who is a beginner at offshore fishing and would like to learn.

I do not have a time but it most likely will be around 11 am.

I am also looking for one more speaker to assist and share tips as well as people interested in donating supplies like squids and rigging materials.

If you are interested let me know drop me an e-mail at Chumlord@cox.net

If you have a particular topic you would like discussed I let me know and I will try to work it in.

More as it comes in.

If it's on a weekend (DEC.1) or rainey bad weather; I would be interested in coming. Or if it's a weekday I would consider taking off (wife permitting of course). My only problem is I am coming from Frederickburg area 2-hours away and I would need directions to meet with you all. I am not to familiar with VA. Beach area but I know how to get to Bubbas Marina and down to 33 street on Atlantic BLVD. Just let me know the dates and the time and I will try to be there.

Thanks you for the invite!

Being a third season rookie, this would be a great way to see what I'm doing wrong (and also confirm the things I think I'm doing right). Problem is, you only get about 6 or 7 Saturdays to hunt (there are no rainouts). I think its pretty cool of ya to share your house, your knowledge, and I appreciate the open invitation.
