I have never been out to the a,b,c towers and this summer, for the first time, I will have a boat seaworthy enough to make it out there. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what to expect as far as species of fish to target, what exactly the towers are, and any other info you think I might need to know. Ive been to the chesapeake tower 10+ times. Are they anything like that? Any info would be appreciated.

I have only been to "A", more commonly refered to as the South tower. It is nothing like the CLT. Much smaller, does not have living quarters like the CLT. As I understand, it is a Navy tower that is used for training. Also, it is a MUCH further run than CLT! As far as species, we have caught spades, amberjack, and shark. I am sure there is more there, but haven't caught them - haven't really tried for much else. When you go, take plenty of live bait...they don't last long. Good luck.

Tuna and Dolphin can also be caught. Usually big amberjacks.

I have not heard of anything being caught there this early, usually start to hear about fish showing up late May.
