I hope somebody went fishing today in this perfect weather! I am looking to go out of RI tom. Bought a new boat and trailering from Williamsburg and wanted to know if the stripers were still running? I will post report monday.

Was out from about 9:30 to 2:00 from the green can down to the golf ball.... lots of birds... no fish biting. Water was 43 degrees. I wasn't out as long as I wanted to be because my BANANA carrying buddy needed to get in. They may have lit up after I left.

I was out today for a little while doing a little recon. I ran from lynhaven to well past sandbridge. I saw no action on the way down and the water was cold (my gauge ranged from 36.9 to 38 deg F (I think the actual measurement is suspect but the variance should be accurate). It actually got colder the further south I went. I turned around and made my way back to Va Beach and ran into a beehive of birds right off of VA Beach. Marked tons of fish and saw 6 inch bait fish going down the gullets. However, not a single fish boated and I do not think anybody else had much luck. I beleieve these were very large schools of baitfish and either A. there were no stiper because the water was too cold or B. the striper were so gougred with fish they were not interested in my funny looking artificials. If I were to go out tomorrow I would run further south (ie O.I. area or I would go for Tog at the wrecks). Good luck!!

I fished the same general area and did in fact find the water colder south. However, I never recorded water any colder than 43.2, and a high of 44.6. Also saw tons of bait, but the sounder never showed any of those larger solid spots around the bait that indicated the presence of predators.

Patiently waiting for warmer water.....

I found some warm water in close to the beach off Damneck 46.7 deg thats the warmest water I have seen in a while.

I went out Saturday, it was beautiful except NO FISH. A few whales.

Well, I fished Sunday all morning out of RI. Lots of birds hanging out by the Green Can but no action and no fish on fishfinder. Fog crept in at noon and couldnt see 50 ft in front of us. Called it a day and back at the dock at 1. Just wondering how the rest of the afternoon did?
