I concur..

We went out last weekend to give it a try with a little catch and release. We were fishing the HRBT at night on an outgoing tide. We got into a nice set of 28-32" fish. We were throwing 6" shad baits and having a blast. They are out there, although everyone else we saw were concentrating on the 12-20" fish that were busting near the surface in the lights. BTW, they are there year round, although catching them in the summer is not advisable- the catch and release mortality-rate goes through the roof when the water temp is over 65°F or so.

Good Luck,
fjoyce
What is the final decision on the season. What is the size for after Dec 10? Is it 18" and greater, is it over 28 or what? Is there a slot before Dec 10?

From Oct 4th to December 9th, it's 2 fish per person 18"-28" and 1 of those 2 fish can be 34"+. From December 10th to the end of the year it's 1 fish per person and that fish can either be 18"-28" or 34"+. The ocean season did not change: 2 per person over 28".
