We made our first offshore run in my new boat on Sunday heading out of Lynnhaven at first light (Didn't leave Richmond until 4:30am and was a little apprehensive leaving in the dark just yet).
We headed to the tip of the cigar and trolled the huge weed line south. We had two knockdowns and hooked up on one gaffer size dolphin. We trolled this area for another 2 hours without any more hits. Decided to head to the weather buoy. Trolled some on the way to the buoy and caught two false albacore on a green machine way back. The wind seemed to be picking up around 1pm with 3ft rollers so we headed back.
It was good to finally get offshore in my own boat and not get skunked the first time out.

Good work on your first trip out! Watch the Board in the future for other boats heaaded out. Great way to exchange info and to have some friendly voices on the radio while you're out there!

Thanks for the report ! Congrats on the gaffer. Things have been on the slow side out there so coming in with a gaffer is pretty work.

Great job yesterday driving & fishing your new-to-you boat. Now we know the boats a fish raiser, so we can continue on with the catching of fish.... Mr. Tuna has to show up some time.
