Headed out about 630AM and stopped about 15-20 mi out with a fleet of charter boats - caught a King Mak and a lot of bite offs, the fleet was thinning and the bite was slowing so we headed to the tuna hole and found that the rest of the fleet was there and a bit north so we trolled and replaced baits there for the rest of the day. Lots of bite offs, we even went to putting stingers in the BH's and they still would clean the hooks - smart fish. We also lost some equipment due to the toothy critters sending back line with split ends. Having Pete, Tom, and Jay onboard made for a fun time even though the catching was a bit slow.

I hope someone finds some TUNA soon, like yesterday!!!!!!!

Here Tuna Tuna, Here Tuna Tuna!!!!!!! They are coming now I can feel it in the air, get ready, you better have an extra blue and white mini spreader bar they are gonna be fat and feisty.

Everybody's watching and waiting, Owen. I, for one, am ready to go get 'em, but I'm not going until I'm pretty certain they're out there. I think they'll be here in next couple of weeks, unless they pass us by. And weather looks bad for this weekend, too. sad.gif

At least you didn't hit anything this time did you ???>...

The Tuna last year didn't really get hot until November ....and they were here until at least the first week in December so it's still early for that run...I would definatley recommend taking advantage of the fantastic WAHOO fishing that is happening....those are some awesome fish to eat man...and they're pretty dam exciting when they hit....they scream hard initially and are good for a couple of good runs...but they won't kick your ass like a big tuna....Wahoo are fantastic fish to catch....

And everybody kinda treat Mahi like a by catch but let me tell you...they're one of the best fish to catch around..they're acrobatic..they're the most colorful fish you'll catch out there and they're right up there with the best of em on the grill also...we use to take Mahi for granted down in Palm beach until they went away...now they're not as easy to catch down there as they used to be...My buddies in florida get pissed when I tell them it was a slow day and send them pictures of 20 dolphin and a couple of Tuna or Wahoo...not to mention a Marlin Flag flying !....Bob

Good job chasin them Owen, they'll be here soon.

Bob, you're so right! This season has (and still is) great for the Wahoo action. An exciting fish and not a pushover by any means. Mahi can be a trip-saver when action is otherwise off. Great fun and great table fare. Like you, we're waitin on the real Tuna start...not too much longer.
Tight lines.

O, sorry a slow day for you guys, but you seemed to have some steady action with hit. Sometimes that hte way the fish are, they short bite. You must have been in a big mix of wahoo...they'll lazer threw a bait like it was nothing.

Bob..well put. We're all hungry for that Fall tuna bite, that we get clouded...me included. Any time you can go out and put anything in the box, you've had a great day.
short comings
hang in there buddy, they will get here...
