I am hoping to join you and could have a few buddies also. It is hard to not go to new jersey with the way they have been catching up there. On the boat did they chunk at just one spot or was it being done at multiple spots? Would they let you have a bunch of chunks to float your bait with? Did they try any squid or otherbaits besides butters. Dont forget your wrestling outfit to get the rod this time.
Good luck
Scott
Hey Scott.... They started out chumming on the back of the boat, but they also ran it up and down both sides.... Lots of chum.. You could grab your own chum and put it wherever you wanted.... The boat had plenty of chum in the water... They even threw some live fish over that they caught before we left.... I was wondering why, but then I realized, they have no idea where they are at, so they kept swimming around the boat all night.... lol Yeah, all the swordfish were caught on full squids.... One was frozen, and the other two were alive I believe.... They were catching the squid with some kind of squid rig that glowed... Several of the lines we rigged up with glow sticks, some without... That was during the night... They also made up two float rigs on the back of the boat with glow sticks on them.. Floated them out behind the boat, maybe 80 yards or so, using penn internationals........ Come first light, we switched back to butterfish, took the glow sticks off, and they put a chum bag or two over....... They had PLENTY of chum on board. We saw tuna breaking water off in the distance..... Tried to draw them to the boat, but with no success..... I don't think it was a very big school, but definitely tuna... They had After a while went and hit up the tile fish again before we made the 4 1/2 hour run back in...... I'll be looking for you out there... Hope you can make it... Where are you guys thinking about running out of New Jersey......... I've only been there one time, and that was to gamble... I don't know anything about the fishing there... Been hearing alot about it on here though.....
