Launched at the Willoughby spit area dock at about 9;30 am Sat. with my brother and 87 year old father. Cruised over to the HRBT, lightly anchored up and almost immediately started pulling 12-14 inch flounder on bottom rigs with squid and shrimp. Put an 18 inch flounder in the box among the 20 or so we caught and decided to move over to the CBBT to try for the stripers, larger flounder etc. Fished the bay side of the !st island for around two hour catching juvenile black sea bass with 1-2 keeper size and decided to migrate back to the HRBT to see if the larger fish were ready for dinner. Ran into very snotty seas from a SW wind and crept back toward the dock with all due respect to my old man who had "concerns" about the conditions. Stopped back by the HRBT but didn't see much action. Tally for the day: about twenty undersized flounder,
2 keeper size flounder, countless undersized black sea bass,
4 keeper sea bass, four-five toad fish, six-eight puffers and a 2001 foreign car caught on a miss casted sting silver that I think is in a front tire on the way to Georgia. All in all a wonderful day on the water with my father and brother.
