26 mile hill is a well documented fall stopover for bluefin tuna, including possibly some large specimens. Not the giants, but 100 lb class fish have been caught there. During the summer bite you can catch both bluefin and yellowfin during the chunk bite.. I don't think many folks from Southside fish there, mostly people from the eastern shore. I caught a 5 lb, 13 oz spanish mackeral there years ago. Biggest spanish I ever saw. I'd love to tell you how it battled on light tackle, but that would be a lie. And we all know the aversion fishermen have to falshood! On 50 lb tackle I skipped that sucker across the water like a jitterbug on a farm pond. Thought is was a baby king, even tried to knock it off the hook. Anyway, you'll find the fishing pressure very light over there this time of year. Everyone's got striper fever! Tight lines and good luck!
