Went out today 4-6 miles out from the mouth of Rapp. River to go sleigh some stripers. As soon as we get out we see massive amounts of birds. Hall over jig and get a couple smallies 16-18inch. Then troll for most of the rest of the day. Catch a 30,28,22. VERY SLOW. THIS IS ONE OF THE FUNNIEST THINGS I'VE SEEN ON THE WATER. Some dude says on the radio that there are tons of fish at R2 or some like that and he can't stop catching em'. All the sudden right in front of me. 99% of the boats start up the motor and go over. It was like the world was coming to an end and the last piece of food was waiting there.(I know catching fish is the best thing in the world, but do you really think this guy would announce it over the radio so everybody would come?????????) I The great part was there was no fish there and everybody was gone in 5 minutes. Some knuckle head making up stuff i guess he was bored of not catching anything Just thought I share for those who haven't been out lately Slow but better than going to work!!

Thanks for the report and I'm glad you had the sense to know that call was bogus. I've been out ther and heard crap like that on the radio before. That kind of stuff will come back to haunt 'em.

A number of years ago, I was with a friend and his brother trolling for stripers off Virginia Beach in December. The friend's brother announced on the radio he was in a school of catfish off the Ramada. Man, you should have heard the chatter. "Catfish...where'd you say you were catching those catfish?" Funny stuff.
